Kirby Johnson is a seventh generation farmer who wants to do things the way he did as a young boy working with his dad. Kirby was born in 1960 and spent more days on the farm with his father, Preston "Pete" Johnson, than he did sitting in a classroom. As much as that drove his mother (a local teacher) crazy; it was heaven for him. They would farm from spring until fall, selling whatever produce they could, wherever they could. Kirby and his brothers always stayed in the produce business, each of them creating a legacy of their own.
Kirby, our father, has created and owned multiple successful produce businesses. Growing and packing vegetables for the big chains here in the Southeast has been his bread and butter for four decades, but he is ready for a new chapter. My sisters and I, along with our children and husbands, plan on continuing the tradition that has been set before us for several generations. If there is one thing Johnsons from Henderson County know how to do, it's farm and sell amazing produce!
We have lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, cut flowers, and even a u-pick farm in the back of our new produce stand. Open Tuesday through Saturday 10-6, we are located at the corner of Erkwood and Kanuga in Hendersonville, NC.
